India's march from blue to saffron

Congress, called the mother of all parties in India, had to settle with an embarrassing tally of just 52 seats in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP, on the other hand, achieved its best-ever showing with 303 seats. An analysis of India's general elections shows that the Congress peaked in 1984 when it won a total of 414 Lok Sabha seats.
